For Our Growers
Grower Resources
The Wisconsin Cranberry Board (WCB) provides resources and information to help Wisconsin cranberry growers make informed decisions, adopt best practices, and thrive in the industry.
Grower Assessment
WCB is funded through a grower assessment on each barrel of cranberries produced in Wisconsin. These funds are reinvested directly into programs that benefit the entire cranberry industry.
Current Assessment Rate
In 2025, WCB unanimously voted to increase the assessment rate from 10¢ to 25¢ per barrel. This increase bolsters support for current projects and ensures resources are available to address future industry challenges.
More than 250 licensed cranberry producers across Wisconsin contribute to the assessment, which generates approximately $1M+ annually in funding for research, education, and promotion programs.
Where Your Assessment Goes
Approximate allocation — actual percentages vary by year based on WCB priorities.
Board Elections & Participation
WCB is composed of seven grower-members, each serving a three-year term. Elections are administered by DATCP, with nominations typically opening each April.
How to Run for the Board
- Nominations open each April through DATCP
- Must be a licensed Wisconsin cranberry producer
- Submit nomination forms by the posted deadline
- Ballots are mailed to all licensed producers
- New terms begin September 1
Board Meetings
WCB meets regularly throughout the year to review proposals, approve funding, and set strategic direction for the industry.
Meetings are open to the public. For meeting schedules and agendas, contact the WCB office.
